May 2018 – Today is kind of a down day after all the excitement of
the past few days. I sat around the hotel and took a walk over to the
Mueller Shopping Center. I walked around there looking for something
interesting. Some type of a souvenir to take home. Nothing jumped out
at me. I then walked back to the hotel. As I was crossing the
intersection a man with a walker was struggling with his wheels
getting stuck in the small pot holes in the pavement. He was having a
tough time crossing. I offered to help him. That was met with a “get
the hell away from me.” Well ok. I looked up and saw about five
people staring at me like I was going to rob this old guy. I guess
you win some you lose some and I continued on to the hotel. I wrote
down some dates with events that transpired so when I work on this
blog again, I will have something to jog my memory. I’ve been in
contact with Mary, my girlfriend, keeping her abreast of my situation
here in Curitiba. I have asked her to start checking for flights out
of Curitiba, Brazil back to Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. I will
not tell her to reserve me a ticket till my motorcycle is on a plane
and gone. I will not leave Brazil till my motorcycle has left
country. I cannot trust that a paperwork issue won’t arise which
requires me to sign some form. That is a bad thing when you’re in
the U.S.A. and the form is in Brazil. So, I wait. I went to bed
slightly hungry but happy about my motorcycle.
